At 8:00 a.m. on June 2, Nghe An General Hospital received a notification from a lower level about a patient - pregnant woman D.TTH (residing in Thuan Son commune, Do Luong district) showing signs of labor. Pregnant woman D.TTH was pregnant for the second time, 39 weeks pregnant, had a history of cesarean section for the first time, had underlying disease of gestational diabetes treated with insulin, thrombocytopenia, and had epidemiological factors of traveling from Ho Chi Minh City.

Recognizing that this was a high-risk patient, under the direct guidance of Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Huong, the hospital organized a hospital-wide consultation including the hospital's leadership and specialist doctors in the fields of Obstetrics, Endocrinology - Diabetes, Clinical Hematology, Anesthesia and Resuscitation, Neonatology... The hospital quickly established a team to deploy the establishment of an operating room atquarantine areawith full equipment, supplies and ensuring conditions for disease prevention and surgical safety.
At 2:30 p.m. the same day, when the outside temperature was 39 degrees Celsius, the surgery officially began with the high concentration of the surgical team. By 3:30 p.m., the surgery was a great success. The baby girl was born weighing 3kg... At the same time, the patient's test result was negative forSARS-CoV-2 viruswas announced to the joy of the surgical team.

Throughout the process from patient reception, screening examination to the baby's birth, hospital staff strictly followed regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control such as using separate protective clothing, disinfecting patient rooms... to ensure the safety of medical staff and patients.
Currently, the health of mother and baby is stable, they are regularly examined by doctors and specialists in related departments and continue to be isolated and monitored at the hospital's Tropical Disease Center.
