Discharge water from Nam Mo hydroelectric reservoir to ensure project safety
To ensure project safety, Nam Mo Hydropower Reservoir is expected to discharge water through the spillway gates and sand discharge sluices from 4:30 a.m. on November 3, 2024.
At 11:20 a.m., the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received Notice No. 10 dated November 1 from Nghe An Energy Development Corporation, regarding the operation and regulation of Nam Mo Hydropower Reservoir to ensure the safety of the project.
Accordingly, according to the request of Nghe An high voltage unit to cut off the 110Kv grid to serve the line repair work on November 3, 2024, Nam Mo Hydropower Plant will stop generating electricity through 2 generators and regulate the lake water level through the spillway gates and sand discharge sluice.

To ensure the safe operation and regulation of water at Nam Mo Hydropower Reservoir in accordance with the approved single-reservoir and inter-reservoir procedures on the Ca River basin, Nghe An Energy Development Corporation plans to release water from Nam Mo Hydropower Reservoir as follows:
Estimated time of water discharge through spillway gates and sand discharge sluices: Starting from 4:30 a.m., November 3, 2024.
Discharge flow: About 100 m3/s (less than the water flow through the two generators).
Estimated time of completion: Until the power plant is back online.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense informs: Ky Son District People's Committee and Heads of provincial departments, branches and sectors, Road Management Area 2 to inform authorities at all levels, agencies, units, investors constructing along the river, on the river, owners of water transport vehicles and all people in the area downstream of Nam Mo Hydropower Plant to know and deploy necessary work, ensuring the safety of life and property of the State and people.
