Carrots are grown mainly by Nam Tan in hamlet 7, sown by seeds. When they first develop, farmers must remove some to ensure density and produce large roots. Carrots are 22-25 cm long, prefer nutrient-rich soil and can yield up to 30 tons.
Carrots are cold-resistant plants, the suitable temperature is 20-25 degrees Celsius, the average temperature for plant growth and tuber formation is 20-22 degrees Celsius.
This is the second carrot crop in Nam Tan. The commune is planning to build a high-income vegetable field with other crops such as potatoes and high-quality vegetables on 2 hectares.
