River fish prices skyrocket

(Baonghean.vn) - During the April 30 - May 1 holiday in Nghe An, the price of river fish increased rapidly. Some markets were sold out.

River fish and freshwater fish are sold at Nghi Trung market, Nghi Loc.

At Yen Thanh Town Market (Yen Thanh District), the fish market area is bustling with buyers and sellers. Ms. Tran Thi Nga, a regular fish seller, said: Snakehead fish normally costs 70,000 VND/kg, but has now increased to 100,000 VND/kg. Carp normally costs 50,000 VND/kg, but has now increased to 70,000 VND/kg. Due to too many buyers, fish stalls are out of stock.

People are buying river fish at Quan Hanh Town Market.

At the Do Luong Trade Center Market, by around 10am on May 1st, fish were sold out. Ms. Tran Tam, a fish seller, shared: From yesterday until now, the amount of fish I imported, about 70 kg, was sold out in less than 3 hours.

The fish market has increased sharply, such as: common carp usually costs 40 thousand VND/kg, now it has increased to 55 thousand VND/kg. Grass carp usually costs 30 thousand VND/kg, now it has increased to 40 thousand VND/kg...
