(Baonghean) - Born in Dien Doai (Dien Chau) - a place with vast fields of flying storks, a place where summer afternoons of buffalo waiting for you to sing passionately the proud melodies of your homeland; a place where your childhood was hard-working with country markets with vegetables and fish to fill your wandering dreams with beautiful melodies. Singer Que Thuong confided like that about her childhood in the poor countryside but it gave her her first love for singing.

Born in 1983, no one in the family had the “artistic gene”. However, since her school days, Que Thuong had already shown her innate talent with a sweet, deep, lyrical voice. Back then, at Dien Chau 2 High School, at any school art festival, she was the one asked by her friends to go on stage to perform her “signature songs”: Ho Huu Thoi’s hometown song, Lam river song or Red Village girl. These are songs with a wide vocal range that require talented singers and the necessary experience, but with a sensitive soul and somewhat mature compared to her age, Que Thuong’s performances always made teachers and friends praise her as “better than a real singer”.

Those compliments were not exaggerated when later on, most of Que Thuong's performances always thrilled the audience. The dream of becoming a singer motivated Que Thuong to take the entrance exam to the Provincial College of Culture and Arts. During her years of study, Que Thuong was always an excellent student, a favorite student of her teachers because she was not only a rare singer of the school with a technical folk voice but also a young face who had early subtle discoveries in lyrics, in the profound implications of the songs that the author wanted to convey. During her years at school, she brought glory to the school when she won the First Prize in the National Student Singing Festival.

In 2002, Que Thuong took part in the Provincial Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe and was awarded the highest score among the contestants at that time. Because the Board of Directors of the troupe recognized her as a valuable quality of a singer singing folk music: the love of couples, the love of lyrical characters always blends with the love of the homeland. Therefore, from then until now, Que Thuong has been a famous singer of the troupe. Performances serving political and cultural events of the province or performances serving people in remote mountainous areas, Que Thuong's singing voice was warmly welcomed by the audience. Not only that, Que Thuong is also a singer who was "chosen" by famous musicians of the province in their new compositions. Attending the announcement of compositions by Nghe An musicians during the launching of songwriting about Nghe An land and people, it was a surprise that out of 9 songs announced, 5 were invited by musicians to perform.

That is the immeasurable joy and happiness of a singer. But for Que Thuong, that joy is even more complete when her family is a solid support, an endless source of inspiration for her on her artistic path. Because her husband - an engineer in the livestock industry is always the first and most honest audience to comment on the songs that she has just learned. As a neighbor across the Malabar spinach fence, since his school days, he secretly loved the girl with a voice as sweet as sugarcane. Then, after 11 years, their love has blossomed into a lovely boy and a girl. Que Thuong said that every time he goes to perform, her husband always tries to arrange his work to take care of the children so that his wife can "work with peace of mind". "That happiness for a singer is a gift from heaven" - Que Thuong said.

Currently studying at the University of Culture and Arts of the Army, Que Thuong confided: “I am never satisfied with the achievements I have made. Especially singing, is a profession that requires the most hard work, requires the accumulation of life experience so that when I stand with senior singers like Anh Tho and Phuong Thao, I will feel that I am not inferior”. That is the will and passion of a singer of folk music when standing on the podium of glory of the audience's love.
