Singer Viet Hoa: 'When music chooses you, spread love for the Fatherland'
(Baonghean) - Born in Hung Trung (Hung Nguyen), in a family where no one was in the arts, Viet Hoa (real name Nguyen Van Hoa - born in 1993), showed his musical talent early on. He always believed that music had chosen him and helped him shine under the spotlight with lyrical songs about his proud and passionate homeland...
I knew Viet Hoa when he was a student at Nghe An Pedagogical College. What impressed me most about him was his clear tenor voice of a “school singer” with lyrical love songs of the homeland or vibrant pop songs.
After a while, Hoa did not participate in music programs organized by the Provincial Youth Union, although before that, Viet Hoa was always a "famous face" in variety shows for students. When I contacted him, I learned that he wanted to choose a job closer to the stage, wanting to try his hand at many playgrounds before choosing a stable direction for himself.
Then Hoa's image became "hot" when she went to work at wedding events. In most of the weddings that Hoa took on, she took on both the roles of singer and musician. When asked why a student of a teacher training college with many abilities chose to approach folk music like that, Hoa laughed: "Just because I am passionate about music and love to explore and learn, knowing how to turn my weaknesses into strengths, so any stage where people listen to my music, I aim for it and consider it an environment to train myself."

Loving singing and being passionate about the stage lights, Hoa never stopped nurturing her dream of becoming a singer. And after graduating for 1 year, Hoa tried her hand at many playgrounds. She participated in many music programs held in the city to gain experience and simply to be able to express herself on professional stages.
After many days of hard practice, the perfect result came to Hoa. That was when she won the second prize in the chamber music category in the "Sao Mai" competition organized by Nghe An Radio and Television in 2015 with the song "Ngã ba chieu". It was also from that stage that Colonel Le Thi Quynh Nhu selected her to join the Art Troupe of Military Region 4. Since then, Viet Hoa officially stepped into the path of professional music activities, with joy, excitement and worries.
Since his first steps into the professional stage, Viet Hoa has been trained with a systematic curriculum from his teacher, Meritorious Artist Tien Lam. From here, the path of hard study began, when his natural techniques were now officially trained and forced into a framework, from how to breathe, pronounce words, divide verses and push the climax in the song.

Hoa said: “If before I only sang according to my own musical perception, when I joined the troupe, my teachers and seniors guided me from vocal techniques to how to perceive the song. And not every stage or song should I show all my emotions and techniques right from the start, but I need to know how to filter it to put in the most valuable, most delicate parts, to highlight the song. But on the contrary, from this professional environment, I was also taught how to express my own identity. It must be good, “well-rounded” when performing, but it must not be like someone else, but must be myself.”
Then, after 2 years of apprenticeship, Viet Hoa was recognized when he achieved many successes as an actor of the Military Region 4 Art Troupe, with the first prize of the whole troupe when participating in the 2015 Armed Forces Mass Art Festival. Along with that, Viet Hoa was always chosen as the main male singer in the male choir, and he was also assigned to sing solo in many programs serving the whole army.
And it is from her daily efforts that Hoa always receives compliments from her fellow actors and the recognition of the Head of the troupe, Colonel Le Thi Quynh Nhu. For her, that is the motivation to strive.

What Hoa is always grateful for during his time in the army is the ability to cultivate and train himself from his expertise to the character of a soldier. Because soldier singers also have to follow military orders, always work on time, and always be ready to serve when the people need it. Therefore, when returning to the Union, Hoa was assigned to perform, serving many units, going up the mountains and down the sea, from the North to the South. But the trip to Truong Sa left the deepest impression: "The feeling is hard to describe, when I was able to sing in the middle of the sea of my homeland, to bring my voice to serve the island soldiers. When I felt the eager anticipation in the eyes of the soldiers, I realized that my sacred mission was truly meaningful."
And for Hoa and the soldier singers on that trip, the gift they brought to the island soldiers was also the gift that the singers and actors of the troupe received. That was the love like brothers and sisters, the pride, the sacred love for the beloved Motherland.
Hoa shared: “I will try, try harder to bring my singing to serve the soldiers and the people. Because singers and soldiers like me have a noble mission to spread pride and love for the country to all the people and soldiers where I go and even places I have never been to.”
