On April 24, the scientific seminar "Improving the quality of propaganda and education on Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle for students" took place in Vinh city with the participation of many agencies, scientists, students.

On behalf of the students present at the discussion, Ho Ngan Hanh, a student of class 12C1 at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, expressed the feelings of Nghe An students towards Uncle Ho. Ngan Hanh shared: “For us, the statue of Uncle Ho in Ho Chi Minh Square is an image imprinted in our childhood memories, becoming a sacred thing urging each person to step forward to the future. It can be said that Uncle Ho is the belief, the source of motivation for us to try our best, the spiritual support that contributes to the inner strength for our success”.

At the seminar, Ms. Cu Thi Minh, the Department of Propaganda and Education of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site, said: “The educational method of explaining and guiding tours is a passive learning method that makes students forget quickly, and this method does not require much explanation, learning, thinking, and exploration. The number of students visiting is too large, on average each tour guide is responsible for 100-150 people/group, which makes it difficult to manage, leading to low propaganda effectiveness.”

Faced with the difficulties raised in the discussion, Dr. Bui Thanh Thuy, Head of the Faculty of Family and Social Work, Hanoi University of Culture, proposed: “Museums and memorial sites about Uncle Ho should be turned into tourist destinations operating as tourism resources to exploit as well as create products to attract and retain tourists. The staff must consider themselves as service providers to satisfy customers. And the methods of operation and propaganda must also be determined to be appropriate to the visitors and the purpose of the trip in order to effectively propagate Uncle Ho's ideology to tourists in general and students in particular."

Comrade Ho Mau Thanh, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Nghe An province, made suggestions such as: There should be appropriate explanations for each audience when visiting museums and relic sites about Uncle Ho; management agencies need to cooperate, learn and exchange experiences with each other; train staff, supplement foreign language learning... In particular, managers need to consider how to help students learn Uncle Ho's ideology and morality more effectively. Propagating Uncle Ho's ideology to young people also needs to be done regularly and continuously. Even relic sites and museums need to proactively contact schools instead of passively waiting for schools to come to them.

At the end of the discussion, comrade Nguyen Van Cong, Director of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace, acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of the delegates, pupils and students and will discuss these suggestions with the agencies.
