(Baonghean.vn) - Currently, medical units in Nghe An have been preparing all conditions to be ready to perform well the tasks of examination, treatment, and disease prevention during Tet.

To ensure good examination and treatment during the 2018 Lunar New Year, Nghe An General Hospital has scheduled work and arranged human resources carefully. Accordingly, 100% of departments and rooms are open and operating as usual. The Emergency and Medical Examination Department, Surgery Department, Nephrology - Urology - Dialysis Department, and Trauma Department are all staffed with additional doctors and nurses... to avoid the situation of refusing or delaying treatment for patients.

Dr. Le Thi Thanh Tra - Head of the General Planning Department, Provincial General Hospital of Friendship said: The hospital gives free meals as well as gifts to patients during this occasion. Doctors and nurses who are not on duty during Tet are fully informed of the spirit of being ready to support and are mobilized when there are urgent tasks. In addition, the hospital also arranges many mobile teams including ambulances, medicine, infusions, and medical supplies to support lower levels when necessary.

Along with the urgent atmosphere of all for the patients, Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital also directed departments and rooms to prepare well the conditions to ensure that there is no shortage of medicine, supplies, and equipment for emergency care and treatment of patients during Tet. Based on the hospital's Tet duty schedule, the Examination Department has assigned officers and staff to ensure that all specialties are fully available to serve the needs of the people. Emergency patients will be transferred directly to the Emergency Department for timely treatment.

Doctor Phan Van Tu - Director of the Hospital said: The list of staff on duty at the departments and rooms has been publicly posted. In addition to the specialized doctors and nurses on duty, the hospital also mobilizes a regular team of doctors and nurses, always ready to reinforce in case of emergency. Currently, the hospital has 200 staff members registered to volunteer to donate blood to save lives during Tet.

Unlike other medical facilities, during Tet, the number of patients admitted to Nghe An Orthopedic Trauma Hospital for treatment often increases. Therefore, during this time, all hospital activities are guaranteed to be as normal. The hospital has also developed plans to receive and treat a large number of patients due to traffic accidents, if any.

Doctor Nguyen Hoai Nam, Director of the Hospital, shared: This Tet, the Hospital has more than 50 inpatients staying for treatment. The Hospital has increased security to ensure security and order in the hospital and is trying to decorate and clean the hospital to create a cozy atmosphere for the patients staying there, like at home.

During Tet, there are often many patients with injuries and accidents, so the need for blood is very high. In order to avoid blood shortage during and after Tet, Nghe An Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center has been focusing on receiving, screening and preparing safe and quality blood products. According to the Center's leaders: With the "Red Sunday" just held, the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center has prepared over 1,000 units. In addition, the Center has also called for the response of thousands of volunteers who are ready to donate blood to save lives on this occasion.

Not only provincial medical units but also district-level medical units have been carefully ensuring human resources and materials to serve Tet. At Anh Son District Medical Center, departments and offices have prepared equipment, medicine, assigned duty schedules, and ensured security and order. Doctor Nguyen Thi Huong - Director of the Center said: In addition to the team of medical staff on duty as assigned, the hospital also prepared a plan so that in case of an incident, it can still be proactive if it is necessary to mobilize more human resources. The hospital has established a mobile emergency team of 9 people to prevent natural disasters from occurring.

During the Lunar New Year, the disease situation often becomes quite complicated, especially with many cases of traffic accidents, food poisoning... Like last year, the spirit of "All for the sick" continues to be thoroughly promoted by the Nghe An Health Department to all units.

Doctor Dau Huy Hoan - Deputy Director of Nghe An Department of Health said: The Department of Health has requested medical examination and treatment units to maintain the 4-level emergency response regime according to regulations. If a patient is admitted to the emergency room outside the line or the specialty, they must be treated through the critical stage before being transferred to other medical facilities.

Units that have plans to receive cases of mass poisoning and epidemics occurring in the area must report promptly according to regulations. Especially influenza A (H7N9), H5N1, Ebola, hand, foot and mouth disease, dengue fever, measles, etc. Together with the mobile team, maintain 24/7 duty and prepare medicines, chemicals, and medical equipment to be ready to handle when an epidemic occurs.

Along with emergency preparedness and treatment, the health sector also promotes propaganda and raises people's awareness of ensuring food safety and hygiene, providing knowledge to choose safe and hygienic food for the family during Tet, taking care of their own health and that of their families, especially the health of children and the elderly. The health sector recommends that people should not use beer or alcohol when participating in traffic and should not use alcohol or beer because the risk of alcohol poisoning is very high./.
