In November, the press agencies promptly reported on current events and social activities in the province. In particular, the activities to celebrate the 88th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, associated with the activities of the National Great Unity Day, were strongly promoted. Many articles and reports affirmed that the National Great Unity Day is a very meaningful event in residential areas. This is also an opportunity for leaders of the Party Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front government to directly meet and listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the people.

The activities of the Provincial People's Council Delegates meeting with voters in localities to prepare for the 8th session of the Provincial People's Council term XVII with many issues such as: support policies for ethnic minorities in the mountainous areas in building new rural areas; resettlement solutions for ethnic minorities at Hua Na hydropower plant; many unfinished construction projects affecting their lives were also promptly reported.

At the conference, representatives of press agencies frankly raised a number of outstanding issues.

Many opinions say that there are still some issues that have been discovered and reported by the press many times but have not been resolved by the relevant agencies. Regarding this issue, Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper Pham Thi Hong Toan suggested that the responsibility of the agencies, departments and branches in implementing the issues raised and reported by the press should be investigated to the end; thereby not only raising the position of the press in general, but also demonstrating close supervision and urging the implementation of the competent agencies.

Some opinions suggest inviting relevant agencies, departments and branches to attend periodic press conferences so that journalists can question and explain right at the meeting issues of public concern.

Some journalists reported that accessing and grasping official information from some agencies and sectors still faces many difficulties; it is recommended that there be a mechanism to facilitate press agencies to access and collect documents, and that the situation should not be prolonged, causing delays in reporting issues.

In addition, press representatives also reported a number of other issues such as the illegal use of blue-plate cars in Nghe An province; the problem of "black credit funds" causing instability in people's lives; projects behind schedule, causing environmental pollution, affecting people's lives...

At the conference, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Nguyen Thi Thu Huong highly appreciated the reports and recommendations of representatives of press agencies, helping to visualize a fairly complete "picture" of press activities throughout the province.

In the coming time, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department requested that press and media agencies reflect on the province's socio-economic development results, the implementation of the targets set for 2018, and the direction and tasks for 2019. Pay special attention to reflecting on the results of typical models from the grassroots of the people in the practice of new rural construction, as well as implementing the conversion of crop structure, bringing high values. Thereby, pay attention to reflecting on the shortcomings and limitations from the grassroots to propose timely solutions to overcome difficulties.

The press agencies focused on clearly reflecting the implementation of Resolutions of the 6th and 8th Central Committees, term XII, creating high determination of the entire political system, and consensus and active participation in supervision of the people in the process of implementing the Resolutions.

The Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department requested newspapers to strengthen propaganda on the implementation of Resolution 36 of the Central Committee on the strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy; border demarcation and marker planting, and the work of protecting sea and island sovereignty in order to build a peaceful, friendly, cooperative relationship for mutual development, affirm sovereignty over seas and islands, and encourage fishermen to go out to sea.

In addition, newspapers and radio stations open special pages and columns to promote major events and holidays such as: 29th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam Veterans Association; 74th Anniversary of the Founding of the Vietnam People's Army; Christmas Day...
