On the afternoon of January 20, the Department of Education and Training held a meeting with press agencies to celebrate the Spring of At Ty 2025.

Also attending were comrade Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training. On the side of the press agencies, there were comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nghe An Newspaper, representatives of offices and permanent agencies of central newspapers and magazines located in the province.

Speaking at the meeting,Director of Department of Education and TrainingThai Van Thanh presented the outstanding results of Nghe An's education sector in the past year. In particular, the outstanding point is that the comprehensive education quality really affirms its position as the top in the country. Specifically, at the 2024 National Excellent Student Competition, Nghe An continued to rank in the top 10 excellent provinces and cities in the country with 96 students winning prizes (including 9 first prizes, 29 second prizes, 37 third prizes, 21 encouragement prizes, reaching a rate of 85.71%, ranking 5th nationwide).

Last year, at the 2024 International Excellent Student Competition, Nghe An had 7 students winning regional and international medals (1 Asian Physics Olympiad Bronze Medal (APhO), 1 Silver Medal, 1 Mendeleev International Chemistry Olympiad Bronze Medal, 2 International Biology Olympiad Bronze Medals and European Physics Olympiad Silver Medal; 01 International Russian Language Olympiad Silver Medal);

The results of the 2024 high school graduation exam ranked 12th out of 63 provinces and cities, up 10 places compared to 2023. Nghe An Education Department also made an important mark in the playgrounds, encouraging students to be active, creative, and apply the knowledge and skills learned to life. Nghe An delegation ranked 5th in total medals (with 47 Gold Medals, 39 Silver Medals, 65 Bronze Medals), ranked in the top 10 best provinces and cities in the National Phu Dong Sports Festival, achieving a total final score of 2,557 (ranked 8th), and a total regional score of 1,278 (ranked 1st).

To achieve these important results, the Director of the Department of Education and Training thanked the support of the central and local press agencies in Nghe An province. Articles reflecting on the activities of the sector, achievements, difficulties, shortcomings and obstacles will help the sector perform its tasks better and make appropriate adjustments to improve operational efficiency.

At the meeting, representatives of some press agencies also shared with the Education sector and mentioned some issues of concern to society and public opinion such as school traffic safety, support for disadvantaged students, implementation of exams, enrollment, education in mountainous areas, etc. At the same time, they hoped that the Education sector would continue to accompany and proactively provide information from the sector so that the press agencies could promptly report and reflect accurately, fully and objectively on the activities.

Entering 2025, the Education sector will focus on synchronously, scientifically and effectively implementing 3 breakthrough development tasks and solutions and 6 main tasks and solutions for each school year for education, training and vocational education; ensuring the implementation of the sustainable development strategy for education and training in Nghe An to 2030, with a vision to 2045; meeting the requirements of innovation according to Plan No. 276-KH/TU dated October 3, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee.

In addition, continue to effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program according to the roadmap; educational models, school management and administration, meeting the requirements of innovation and international integration; promote the implementation of breakthrough solutions to improve the quality of comprehensive education, especially in disadvantaged areas; improve the quality of universal education in the province. Innovate and organize exams well, create breakthroughs in organizing student assessment according to output standards on quality and capacity. Direct the construction, inspection of new recognition, re-recognition and upgrading of standards, completing the target on the rate of schools meeting national standards by 2025./.
