Buddhist monasteries must strictly implement regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control.
On February 20, the Standing Committee of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha issued Official Dispatch No. 037/HDTS-VP1 requesting the Executive Committees of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in localities to thoroughly grasp, inspect, and remind monasteries to continue strictly implementing regulations on epidemic prevention and control.
The document clearly states that, currently,Covid-19 epidemicThe situation is still complicated in Hai Duong province and some provinces and cities across the country. The Ministry of Health warns that the new strain of virus that has appeared in this outbreak has a 70% higher infection rate than the SARS-CoV-2 strains that appeared previously in Vietnam. The risk of infection is very high in all localities across the country, and it is recommended to raise the highest level of vigilance against the Covid-19 epidemic.
The Prime Minister also signed and issued Directive 06/CT-TTg dated February 19, 2021 on urging the implementation of tasks after the 2021 Lunar New Year holiday, requiring cultural activities in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic to minimize or stop festival activities and large gatherings to minimize the possibility of spreading the epidemic.

To effectively prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, for the safety of everyone, the Standing Committee of the Executive Council requests the Executive Committees of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in localities to thoroughly grasp, inspect, and remind monasteries to continue to strictly implement the Government's instructions and the epidemic prevention and control requirements of local authorities in the coming time.
