Localities prepare goods to stabilize the Tet market
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and reports from the Departments of Finance, up to now, 43 localities have developed plans to prepare goods for the Lunar New Year 2013.

Among the above localities, 21 provinces and cities have implemented and planned to implement the program of reserving goods to stabilize the market on this occasion with capital to reserve goods of about 1,176.8 billion VND.
The list of products with stabilized prices includes essential goods serving people's needs during the Lunar New Year such as: rice, sugar, cooking oil, livestock meat, poultry meat, cakes, jams, sausages and MSG...
Enterprises selected to participate in this program are those with large scale of operations, large market share and prestige in the localities.
Products participating in price stabilization must ensure conditions of quality, food safety and hygiene and must be 5-15% lower than market prices.
Interest rate support for businesses participating in the program is from 0 - 0.3% (depending on the loan source).
The Price Management Department, Ministry of Finance said that regarding the work of inspecting and controlling market prices during the 2013 Lunar New Year, the Ministry of Finance will establish teams to inspect and monitor the market at the end of the year and before the Lunar New Year, and is expected to inspect all three regions of the North, Central and South. In particular, the localities of interest are large cities such as: Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City...
In addition, the disadvantaged provinces in mountainous, remote and isolated areas are also given special attention, promptly grasping the market price situation to increase the price stabilization of goods to serve people in remote and isolated areas where there are many difficulties.
The Price Management Department will coordinate to grasp the situation of goods reserves to stabilize prices, meet the demand for the Lunar New Year, on the other hand, strengthen inspection and control to avoid speculative enterprises hoarding goods, causing price fever. The Ministry of Finance affirms to resolutely handle according to the provisions of the law those units and individuals who violate, take advantage of price increases, arbitrarily and illegally, and publicly announce on the mass media.
