(Baonghean.vn) - Towards the War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27, localities and units in the province are holding many activities to show gratitude to heroic martyrs and families of those who have contributed to the revolution.
On the afternoon of July 24, the working delegation of the Military Region 4 CommandThe delegation led by Major General Tran Tien Dung, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Region, visited and presented gifts at Military Hospital 4, the Nursing Center for Wounded and Sick Soldiers and the Nursing Center for Wounded and Sick Soldiers with Mental Illness in Nghe An Province. The delegation was accompanied by Colonel Tran Nguyen Duong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Nghe An Military Command.

At the places visited by the delegation, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Military Region Command, Major General Tran Tien Dung kindly visited and wished the wounded and sick soldiers good health, shared the pain they were suffering, and hoped that the wounded and sick soldiers would overcome their illnesses, become a support and teach revolutionary traditions to their children and grandchildren. The Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Region also encouraged the staff, hospitals, and nursing centers for wounded and sick soldiers to continue to uphold their spirit and responsibility in the treatment and health care of wounded and sick soldiers.
During the festival, the Command organized working delegations to visit and present gifts from the Ministry of National Defense to 3 Nursing Centers for Wounded and Sick Soldiers in Nghe An and Thanh Hoa, and the Center for Nursing Wounded and Sick Soldiers in Nghe An with mental illness, each gift worth 11 million VND, 1 million VND for each seriously wounded and sick soldier being treated at the 3 centers; presented gifts from the Military Region Command to 2 Military Hospital 4, Military Hospital 268, Nursing Centers for Wounded and Sick Soldiers in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Quang Tri provinces, each gift worth 6 million VND; attended the ceremony to present decisions and present gifts of 500,000 VND each to 115 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers authorized by the Ministry of National Defense to the Military Region to take care of.

On the same day, leaders of Nghe An Social Insurance visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Thai Thi Ba (98 years old) in Son Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, whose two sons, Tran Quang Thanh and Tran Quang Thai, heroically sacrificed their lives in the resistance war against the US to save the country. Nghe An Social Insurance is the unit that takes care of and supports the mother for life.

In Quynh Luu districtOn the afternoon of July 24, Quynh Luu district held a ceremony to offer incense and flowers at the district martyrs' cemetery. Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Duc Cuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee; Hoang Danh Lai, Chairman of the District People's Committee, comrades in the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, representatives of the district's departments, agencies, unions and representatives of the Party Committee, government and students of Quynh Van Secondary School. During the two resistance wars against France and the US, Quynh Luu district had thousands of its children leave to defend the Fatherland, gain independence and freedom for the nation. The whole district had 3,740 outstanding children who heroically sacrificed their lives.

Association for the Support of People with Disabilities and Orphans in collaboration with the Association for Victims of Agent Orange/DioxinThe province has come to Xuan Hoa commune, presenting 20 million VND to support the family of Mr. Dao Van Thanh, a victim of Agent Orange/dioxin with especially difficult circumstances. Mr. Dao Van Thanh was a soldier, participating in the Quang Tri battlefield in 1965. He and his two children are all victims of Agent Orange/dioxin. This amount of money was taken from the Association's fund to contribute a small part to help the family improve their living conditions.
