After the news that Manchester United was almost certain to recruit Shinji Kagawa was published by the press, the Japanese midfielder's teammates in the national team sent their congratulations and expressed their pride to Kagawa.

According to the British press, the Old Trafford club must pay Borussia Dortmund 12 million pounds in cash. The figure will increase to 17 million pounds depending on the Japanese midfielder's performance. Kagawa's salary is around 80,000 pounds/week.

This event helped Kagawa quickly become the most talked about person in the "land of cherry blossoms".

Nikkei magazine affirmed: "Man United needs a player who can increase the speed of attack and handle the ball well. That is why they decided to choose Kagawa."

"MU is in need of a player to command their midfield and provide scoring passes for Rooney," the Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun commented.

Midfielder Keisuke Honda, who has been on the radar of several Premier League giants, congratulated his teammate: “Shinji is the perfect player for a big team. I am very proud of him.”

Miyaichi, who plays for Arsenal, believes Kagawa will be an important part of MU's playing style: "Kagawa can absolutely play well and play a major role in the MU squad. He can keep the ball well in tight spaces and make important passes."

Japan team captain Makoto Hasebe expressed his admiration for Kagawa: “In our generation, a player who plays for a top club in the world could only be seen in comics. Perhaps, now every child in Japan wants to be Kagawa."

Kagawa will be the first Japanese player to wear the "Red Devils" shirt and the fifth player to play in the Premier League after Junichi Inamoto (Arsenal, Fulham), Kazuyuki Toda (Tottenham), Hidetoshi Nakata (Bolton) and Ryo Miyaichi (Arsenal, Bolton)./.
