Activities towards the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27)

(Baonghean.vn) - Towards the 70th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2017), on July 16, units and localities across the province organized many practical and meaningful activities, expressing gratitude and remembering the source of water.

* In 2 daysJuly 15-16, delegation of Provincial Farmers' Association and representatives of Farmers' Association leaders of districts, cities and towns in the provincecame to offer flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, National Martyrs Cemetery of Road 9, Truong Son (Quang Tri) and Dong Loc T-junction historical site (Ha Tinh).

At cemeteries and historical sites, the delegation offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs who died for the independence and freedom of the nation and visited some graves of martyrs who were sons of Nghe An province.

Before the heroic martyrs, the provincial delegates expressed their deep gratitude for their heroic sacrifices and at the same time expressed their determination to promote emulation movements among cadres and farmer members to contribute to building the homeland more and more prosperous, worthy of their noble sacrifices.

Dien Chau has 15 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers who are still living in 14 communes. During this health check-up, the mothers had their blood pressure measured, their general health checked and medication given to them by doctors and nurses.

Currently, the mothers are all in good health. During the examination, the team also advised the mothers on diet, sleep, and light exercise to prevent certain diseases, especially high blood pressure and chronic heart and lung disease in the elderly.

In addition, the District Red Cross also gave 15 gifts to mothers. This is one of the activities with practical meaning, showing gratitude and traditional morality "When drinking water, remember its source".

On this occasion, doctors and nurses examined, provided health consultation, and distributed free medicine to more than 100 people from policy families, wounded soldiers, and meritorious people in difficult circumstances in Nghia Mai commune.

In addition, the delegation also gave gifts to policy families and those in difficult circumstances, each gift worth 300,000 VND. It is known that the total value of the medical examination, medicine and gift giving was over 10 million VND.
