Activities to celebrate Border Guard Traditional Day
(Baonghean) - On the morning of March 3, at Phuc Son Border Guard Station, Anh Son district, a celebration was held to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the founding of the Border Guard force and the 25th anniversary of the People's Border Guard Day.
Phuc Son Border Guard Station was established in 2002, managing 5 border markers, bordering Bolikhamxay province of Laos. In recent years, the station has coordinated with local forces, cadres and people of Thanh Duc commune (Thanh Chuong) and Phuc Son commune (Anh Son) to protect border security. In recent years, the Party Committee and people of Anh Son have paid attention to the lives of officers and soldiers, giving gifts to the station worth hundreds of millions of VND to contribute to building infrastructure. At the ceremony, leaders of Anh Son and Thanh Chuong districts gave congratulatory speeches. Colonel Nguyen Van Tuy - Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command hoped that officers and soldiers of the unit would further promote the glorious tradition of the border guards, have good coordination with functional departments, branches and communes under the station's management to do better in patrolling, controlling and firmly protecting border security.

Previously, on March 2, the Cultural Information Center and the Arts Team of Phuc Son commune, together with the police station's officers, organized a cultural and sports exchange.
- To celebrate the 55th anniversary of the founding of the border force and the 25th anniversary of the People's Border Defense Day, Tri Le Border Guard Station (Que Phong) organized a discussion.
Tri Le Border Guard Station protects 17.6 km of border with Laos and 33 border villages of Tri Le commune. Last year, Tri Le Border Guard Station strictly implemented the duty regime, increased patrols to manage and protect the border, border markers, managed subjects in the area, controlled people and vehicles crossing the border to ensure compliance with the law, creating favorable conditions for people to travel, visit relatives, exchange goods, etc. In 2013, Tri Le Border Guard Station arrested 10 cases/11 subjects, confiscated 2 cakes and 76 grams of heroin, 9 mobile phones, 4 motorbikes. Mobilized people to surrender weapons and explosives, recovered 50 guns of various types, 2 gun barrels, etc.
At the ceremony, Quy Chau district - the twinned locality presented flowers and 50 million VND to Tri Le Border Post, and hoped that the post would continue to promote its achievements, maintain border security, build great solidarity, cooperate and closely coordinate with forces to protect border security and sovereignty.
- The delegation of Tan Ky district attended the talk show, congratulated and presented gifts to the officers and soldiers of Tam Hop Border Post (Tuong Duong).
Tam Hop Border Post is a sister unit of Tan Ky district. Promoting the good tradition, in recent years, the two units have regularly organized exchanges, visits, and strengthened solidarity. On this occasion, the leaders of Tan Ky district presented 120 million VND to the officers and soldiers of Tam Hop Border Post. Authorized by superiors, representatives of the Provincial Border Guard Command presented the "For Border Security and Sovereignty" Medal to 3 leaders of Tan Ky district.
-Yen Thanh District LeadersCongratulations to Na Loi - Ky Son Border Post. Delighted with the achievements of Na Loi Border Post, the district leaders hope that with the heroic tradition of the Border Guard, the post will continue to overcome all difficulties, together with the people of the border communes, to establish many new achievements. On this occasion, Yen Thanh district presented gifts worth 16 million VND to Na Loi Border Post and 2 communes of Na Loi and Dooc May. On this occasion, Yen Thanh district had 8 individuals awarded the "For Border Security and Sovereignty" Medal by the Border Guard Command.
- On March 3, the Nghe An Border Guard Command organized a volleyball exchange to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the People's Border Guard Day (March 3, 1989 - March 3, 2014) and the 55th anniversary of the Border Guard Force's Traditional Day (March 3, 1959 - March 3, 2014). There were 4 teams participating in the exchange: the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Police and Vinh University. The teams competed in a round-robin format, the team with the most points ranked high. As a result, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to the Provincial Border Guard team; the second prize went to the Vinh University team.
