Industrial parks in Nghe An conduct rapid Covid-19 tests for workers

There are 12 industrial parks in Nghe An province. Currently, there are 8 industrial parks in operation, 128 projects in production, creating jobs for 28,230 workers.

Given the complicated developments of the epidemicCovid-19, in particular, in recent days, new cases have continuously appeared, creating dangerous clusters of infection. The People's Committee of Nghe An province has continuously issued instructions to the Management Board of the Southeast Economic Zone and the Industrial Park Management Boards in the area to tighten epidemic prevention work, and at the same time deploy rapid testing for all workers.

InVSIP Nghe An Industrial Park, 19/20 operating enterprises have conducted rapid Covid-19 tests for workers, with about 40% of workers out of a total of 11,461 workers and laborers currently working.

Mr. Le Duc Giap - Head of the Steering Committee for Epidemic Prevention and Control of VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park said that the Industrial Park Management Board has continuously updated information and notified all customers of the complicated developments of the epidemic, requiring businesses in the Industrial Park to conduct rapid testing for workers. However, currently, Vinh City is being quarantined, many workers are staying at home. To implement the plan to test 100% of workers at businesses, we must wait until Vinh City completes Directive 16.

At Bac Vinh Industrial Park, 15/19 enterprises have conducted rapid Covid-19 tests for about 4,600 workers working at the Industrial Park. In addition, many workers have also conducted rapid self-tests in wards and communes in Vinh City.

Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Cam - Director of Bac Vinh Industrial Park Development Investment Company said: After the province's directive on rapid Covid-19 testing for all workers, especially the plan to test once a week, due to the high cost of testing, it cannot be implemented 100%. Some businesses are proposing to test all workers only once, then isolate and only test those in the susceptible group, drivers or those who have to transport goods in and out...

Mr. Dinh Van Phong - Head of Enterprise Management Department, Dong Nam Economic Zone Management Board said: Following closely the development of the epidemic, Dong Nam Economic Zone Management Board has issued many guiding documents, requesting enterprises to strengthen epidemic prevention and control work. Initially, when Nghe An had not yet had an epidemic, following the instructions of the Ministry of Health, enterprises conducted random tests for 20% of workers in each company. However, after the epidemic appeared in Nghe An, the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Steering Committee of the province also assigned Dong Nam Economic Zone Management Board and enterprises to promptly coordinate with the Department of Health to organize testing for all workers.

As of June 25, 94/128 enterprises have conducted rapid Covid-19 tests for 9,814 employees, reaching a rate of 73.4%. Of these, 49 enterprises have conducted rapid tests for 100% of employees, with initial rapid tests showing negative results.
