Before that, immediately after the news of the General's death was officially announced, agencies and units in the entire Military Region's Armed Forces had many practical activities such as: Propagating about his life and career; organizing for soldiers to watch movies, read books, newspapers... about General Vo Nguyen Giap to commemorate him. Implementing the Directive of the Central Military Commission, starting from 12:00 on October 11, 2013, all regiments and equivalent units, independent battalions, warehouses, stations, workshops, and islands in the entire Military Region set up altars for officers, soldiers, and people in the area to visit General Vo Nguyen Giap.
