National high school exams will have sample questions.

Responding to people online at the Government Information Portal, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Vinh Hien and Deputy Director of Testing and Quality Assurance Tran Van Nghia said that the sample test is being compiled and is expected to be announced in early April.

- Currently, many high schools have planned to review the national high school exam for students, but the structure and exam sample have not been announced by the Ministry. So when does the Ministry expect to issue it?

- According to the National High School Exam Regulations, the scope of the exam is within the high school curriculum and mainly focuses on grade 12 knowledge. This year's exam is for both graduation and university and college admissions, so there will be 2 groups of questions. One group is equivalent to the high school exam, ensuring that average students can also do the test and graduate. The second group has classified questions, similar to the university and college entrance exams. The exam direction is the same as in 2014.

Candidates can refer to the graduation exam and university entrance exam questions from previous years to practice. The Ministry is currently compiling sample exam questions and will issue them as soon as possible for candidates to refer to.

- The certificates recognized for exemption from foreign language exams are only valid for graduation, but for university and college admission, candidates still have to take the exam directly. I hope the Ministry can explain this regulation more clearly?

- The Ministry has specific regulations on graduation examinations. Whether or not to use foreign language certificates for university and college admissions is up to the schools themselves. According to the Ministry's statistics, most schools require candidates to take foreign language exams, especially top schools, but some schools also agree to use certain types of certificates.

- If a candidate registers to take 2-3 more subjects in addition to the minimum 4 subjects but then does not take the subjects they registered for, or violates the exam regulations, how will the results of the subjects they took be used for university and college admission?

- If a candidate violates the exam regulations and is suspended from the exam, he/she will have to stop taking the remaining subjects. If only points are deducted, he/she will still be considered for graduation and university and college admission. If he/she misses one of the graduation exams due to illness or accident, he/she will be granted special graduation if his/her score for the subjects is 5 points or higher.

- Because of anxiety, many students have bought many types of reference books, and the review process depends on these reference books. How does the Ministry view this issue?

- The Ministry does not compile and publish review guide books. Any book from publishers is only for reference, candidates should not rely too much on those documents. Students should stick to textbooks with the guidance of teachers to review carefully, that way it will be more effective. Studying well will lead to good test results and being confident will also lead to good test results.

- According to the regulations, there is no distinction between inter-provincial examination clusters and intra-provincial examination clusters, but many people are concerned that the examination councils chaired by the Department of Education are prone to "unbundling" and negative situations arising... due to the ideology of local achievements and pity for students. What is the Ministry's plan to handle this?

- We have calculated this before proposing the provincial cluster exam plan. The Ministry has analyzed the exam questions, exam results, and score distribution of previous years, showing that the student score distribution is reasonable. Previously, there was a phenomenon of "unbundling", but now it is different, the exam is more serious, the exam questions are more reasonable. Therefore, the provincial cluster exam will definitely be more serious. But to make the public feel more secure about the inter-provincial exam clusters, we decided that even the provincial exam clusters will still be chaired by the university in coordination with the Department of Education to organize. The inspection work between the two types of exam clusters is the same.

This year's national high school exam is basically no different from previous years' exams. There are only new features in the organization, not new requirements for candidates. Therefore, students should not worry too much.
