A group of activists called the Kurdistan Liberation Falcons (TAK) has claimed responsibility for the car bombing in the Turkish capital Ankara on Sunday, March 13.

On the official website of TAK, it was reported, “On the evening of March 13, a suicide bombing was carried out at 6:45 pm on the streets of the capital of the Turkish fascist dictatorship. We claim responsibility for this attack.”

According to TAK, the attack was essentially “an act of revenge” for hundreds of victims killed in security operations by the military forces stationed in the Southeast of the country since July 2015.

The TAK group also said that the target of the attack was to target Turkish security forces and had no intention of killing civilians. However, TAK also admitted that casualties were inevitable.

TAK is known to be a dissident group of the PKK. This is not the first time TAK has claimed responsibility for suicide bombings in Ankara. The group claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing that killed 29 people in the Turkish capital on February 17.

Also on March 17, in the face of the increasingly difficult-to-control situation in Türkiye, the German representative office in this country announced its closure for security reasons.
