This year, non-public schools and regional universities announced many admission targets for the third choice.

By September 14, all universities announced that the admission scores for the second choice were a few points higher than the admission scores for the first choice. Many schools announced that they had met their enrollment quotas after the second choice selection round, while only a few schools were recruiting for the third choice with a very limited number. However, in contrast to these schools, many local and non-public universities still lacked thousands of enrollment quotas, especially the College system that was announcing the third choice selection round.

Through a survey of universities such as Banking Academy, University of Construction (Hanoi), Vinh University (Nghe An)... it shows that: After the second round of admission, up to now, the schools have basically completed the 2013-2014 admission season, only very few schools have to recruit the third round.

Many university leaders commented: This year's exam was at a basic level, many candidates achieved high scores, so the entrance scores at the schools also increased compared to last year. When considering the second choice, the schools will select candidates with the highest scores from the lowest until all the applications are filled. Therefore, the benchmark scores for some majors are 2 to 3 points higher than the floor score.

Mr. Lam Thanh Hien, Head of Training Department, Lac Hong University, Dong Nai said: The additional admission scores of the two schools have been announced. In general, all groups have the same score as the floor score except for the pharmacy major which has a higher score of 16, 17 points. In general, this year, I see that the enrollment work is much better than last year, the situation is more positive. Currently, the school still has some majors with few candidates such as: chemistry, biology... These majors are lacking compared to other majors. The enrollment work is still not enough but the school is only a little short. The school will recruit about 400 more candidates in the third round.

In contrast to these schools, this year non-public schools and regional (local) universities are announcing many admission quotas for the third choice. Mr. Dang Kim Vui, Director of Thai Nguyen University, said: The second choice this year to enroll in Thai Nguyen University is also large. The registration rate is high and the admission score for the second choice for many majors is very high. In particular, the Pedagogy major must increase by 3 to 4 points compared to the previous standard score. However, there are very few candidates for the agricultural and technical majors, so Thai Nguyen University has announced to continue to consider the third choice with nearly 3,500 quotas, including 1,200 quotas for the College system. However, very few candidates come to register for the majors in the College system.

Currently, the third choice is all difficult to recruit majors. For example, aquaculture, vegetable and fruit technology, landscape, agriculture, information technology and some majors of the college system. The college system is currently facing some difficulties in recruiting. The reason is due to the quality management issue of the Ministry of Education and Training, which sets out conditions for articulation. Students who want to articulate must have a long working history, and those who want to articulate must take the university entrance exam, which requires them to invest in studying for the exam, which is more difficult, so the number of applications to college this year is lower than last year.

Through the second round of admission, it is still common for candidates to submit applications to schools that have not updated all information, leading to the paradox of schools having too many or too few candidates. This is an experience that candidates and their families need to take note of in the upcoming third round of admission./.
