Ky Son border communes and Lao village clusters coordinate to protect the border

(Baonghean.vn) - The three border communes of Keng Du, Na Loi, and Dooc May (Ky Son district) held a meeting with the two clusters of Huoi Lom and Bo Nhia villages in Noong Het district, Xieng Khouang province, Laos.

Dooc May, Keng Du, Na Loi are remote border communes of Ky Son district. These communes have over 1,720 households, 8,317 people, with the main ethnic groups being Mong, Thai and Kho Mu.

This area has 38 km of border, adjacent to 2 clusters of villages Huoi Lom and Bo Nhia. Although the economic and social conditions of the 3 communes and 2 clusters of villages on both sides of the border are still difficult, over the past year, the political security situation, social order and safety on the border have been basically stable, people from both sides have visited relatives and exchanged goods conveniently and in accordance with regulations. Bilateral patrol coordination is maintained regularly, through which the two sides have organized 18 regular patrols during the year, with the participation of 335 people.

In addition, 3 communes and 2 border posts of Na Loi and Keng Du have coordinated to organize many people-to-people diplomacy activities, cultural exchanges between clusters of villages, especially successfully organizing the signing ceremony between villages along the two sides of the border.
