Dismissed from office deputy secretary of commune for going to motel with female cadre

Caught red-handed in a motel with a female policy officer, the deputy secretary of a commune in Thanh Hoa received disciplinary action and was dismissed from his position.

On September 28, Mr. Le Thanh Hai - Secretary of Nong Cong District Party Committee (Thanh Hoa), said that the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee had just issued a disciplinary decision to remove Mr. Tran Van Quyet - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tuong Linh Commune from all Party positions, because he was caught red-handed going to a motel with a female cadre from another commune.

“Mr. Quyet’s violation is considered serious and must be dealt with seriously,” said Mr. Hai. The female officer involved is also being considered for disciplinary action by the government.

At around 10am on July 20, Mr. Quyet made an appointment with Ms. Nguyen, a policy officer of Tuong Son commune, to go to a motel in Nong Cong town. While the two were in a motel room, the female officer's husband suddenly burst in and caught them red-handed. The husband's relatives used their phones to record a video as evidence. The incident was later recorded by Nong Cong town police.

Mr. Quyet admitted to going to the motel with Ms. Nguyen but denied having a romantic relationship. “I asked Ms. Nguyen to buy me some medicine and take me to the motel because I was drunk the day before…”, Mr. Quyet explained.

Ms. Nguyen has a five-year-old child and was in the process of divorcing her husband at the time of the incident. Mr. Quyet is 31 years old and has a wife and three children.

Mr. Quyet was transferred from Tuong Son commune to become Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tuong Linh commune since the end of 2016./.
