Half-hearted revolution?!
(Baonghean) -On October 10, Chairman of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Nguyen Trong Hy and Vice Chairman Pham Ngoc Vien had a meeting with "boss" Kien (Chairman of HN.ACB Nguyen Duc Kien, representative of the clubs) to discuss related issues and agree on the direction of establishing the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company VPF (Vietnam Professional Football) - a model proposed by "boss" Kien and football businesses at the meeting on September 29.
At the end of the meeting, Vice President Pham Ngoc Vien said: "Basically, the parties have agreed on the policy of establishing VPF. VPF will be a member of VFF, under the management of VFF, VPF will represent VFF to be responsible for organizing tournaments. VFF will not deeply intervene in personnel work but will give full authority to businesses, but in principle VFF still plays a role in managing VPF's operations... Everything must be done gradually, demanding immediate change is impossible."

According to the plan, after agreeing on the policy and establishment procedures and being approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the project to establish VPF will be submitted to the VFF Congress. VPF will probably be established this October. Other issues, such as the organizational structure, the positions of General Director or Executive Director of VPF, will be discussed specifically and determined after the establishment of VPF is completed.
Thus, after being established, VPF will be a member of VFF, subject to the professional management and supervision of VFF. Compared to the initial requirement of the project developers, that VFF will join VPF as a member, the role of VFF towards VPF is clearly different. Instead of holding the status of a member, VFF will have the right to manage and supervise VPF's activities. This is what fans are concerned about the "radical reform" in the current management of Vietnamese football.
VPF was born from the desire of the bosses and football teams to create an equal playing field, limiting negativity, that is the goal that VPF is aiming for for the development of Vietnamese football. This is also what fans are waiting for. If VPF is transformed, becoming the "backyard" of VFF, then the "football revolution" of the bosses will only be half-hearted.
