How to identify safe, non-contaminated food.
There are many ways to check the quality of food to avoid buying unsafe or contaminated food that you may not be aware of.
According toBrightsideWith the naked eye, we can also choose some of the following foods using the tips below:
1. Chicken
When buying chicken, pay attention to the white stripes and thick layer of fat on the chicken breast. If these signs appear, it indicates that the chicken had high levels of growth hormones and gained weight too quickly. This meat is not good for your health.

Color is also a very important factor to consider; if the meat is yellow, it's not fresh. Raw chicken breast should be pink and not too soft.
2. Cheese
To determine if the cheese you bought contains starch, simply drop a drop of iodine onto it. If starch is present, the area where the drop was placed will turn dark blue; if not, it will be yellow or brown.
You can also leave cheese at room temperature. If it contains vegetable fat, the cheese will turn yellow, while fresh cheese may have a sour taste but will not change color.
3. Honey
Pour some honey onto a surface. Fake honey will drip and spread out immediately. Real honey will form a small stream.

If you detect a caramel flavor, it means your honey has been heated. If you can taste the sweetness and find it excessively sweet, it means the honey contains added sugar.
4. Sour cream
Sour cream is a product of the fermentation of milk; lactic acid causes the milk to thicken and give it a sour taste.
To check if your sour cream is genuine, simply stir a spoonful into a cup of hot water. A low-quality product will create white, flaky clumps that look like sediment. Genuine sour cream will be a thick, homogeneous liquid.
5. Frozen fruits and vegetables
Check if a frozen product package has snow or ice inside; this indicates it hasn't been stored or preserved properly.
6. Fish

Fresh fish have bright, vibrant red eyes and gills. Their skin is shiny like metal, and their scales are firmly attached and not peeling off. In contrast, spoiled fish have cloudy eyes, dark gills, pale skin, and peeling scales.
7. Meat
When choosing meat, press your finger onto the piece of meat. Fresh, good quality meat should be firm and the fingerprint will disappear immediately.
Additionally, you should cut a large piece and observe: If the meat is dark inside but has a white border, it means its shelf life has been extended due to preservatives or additives. Alternatively, you can check by blotting the meat with a paper towel. Fresh meat will not leave excessive moisture and blood on the towel.
8. Ice Cream
If you have any doubts about the safety of an ice cream bar, try leaving one at room temperature after purchasing it. If it contains vegetable fat, it will take longer to freeze and eventually melt into a liquid. High-quality ice cream will melt into a thick, white cream.
