How to change engine oil
As recommended, regular oil changes will help ensure long-term engine performance.
Today's car engines have high capacity, so changing engine oil periodically is extremely necessary, helping the engine operate durably and prolong its life.
After preparing all necessary tools such as car jack, stand, waste oil tray, specialized disassembly tool kit, protective tools, cleaning cloth, oil funnel... the car owner can change the car engine oil according to the process.
Locate and remove the oil filter
To change the engine oil and filter, first locate the oil filter. Then remove the oil filter by turning it counterclockwise with a special nut remover.

Drain oil, check seals
After removing the oil filter, drain the oil into the drain oil tank, then clean the surface of the oil filter on the engine base, take out the rubber gasket of the old filter. On the new oil filter, install the rubber gasket, add a small amount of engine oil, reinstall the new oil filter by turning it clockwise until tight.
Remove the oil pan screw
Use the oil pan wrench to unscrew the oil pan screw counterclockwise, take out the oil pan screw.
Drain oil
After removing the oil drain screw, the driver should check the sealing ring. If the seal is broken, damaged or leaking due to long-term use and cannot be used, it needs to be replaced. When the oil is completely drained, check the crankcase oil drain screw again and clean it with a soft towel. Then tighten the oil drain screw just enough, do not tighten it too much, causing the thread to wear out.
Engine oil refill
Once the oil is removed from the engine and the new filter is installed by opening the oil filler cap, place the funnel in the correct position and pour the new oil into the vehicle.
To ensure the correct oil change, the car owner should consult the owner's manual. The oil should be less than the instruction manual. For example, if the car has 4 liters, add 3.5 liters because there is still some oil in the engine parts and it does not flow out.
After adding oil, pull out the dipstick and check, if the oil level is not enough, add more until it feels okay.
Check engine oil level
After pouring new oil, the driver needs to start the vehicle to lubricate the engine parts and the entire system.
Experts recommend that cars that are not used for a long time still need to have their oil changed regularly, because oil stored in the engine for a long time will also degrade over time.
