Step 1: Access the website of the Vietnam Register at the link address:http://www.vr.org.vn/.

Step 2:On the home page, on the right side there is the DATA LOOKUP section, click on the Motor Vehicles section for the vehicle owner.

Step 3: Enter complete required information to search.

In the Registration Plate box, enter the vehicle's license plate information. For vehicles using 5-digit license plates (white plates), add the letter "T" at the end (for example: 30E54367T), and if it is a blue license plate, add the letter "X" at the end.

In the Current Certificate Number box, look at the Vehicle Inspection Certificate and you will see a series of numbers. Enter this series of numbers. The inspection stamp is affixed to the windshield, if you do not know or do not remember, you can look it up again. When entering, note that there must be a “-” between the letter and the number (for example: KC-1506426).

In the Verification Code box, enter the exact code line above.

Step 4: After entering all the information, click Search. The results will show information about the vehicle including: General information, Technical specifications, Last inspection, Last road use fee payment and finally Notice from the competent authority related to the vehicle.

If the vehicle has been fined, the fine information will be displayed in the Notice of the competent authority related to the vehicle section (located at the end). If this section is blank, it means the vehicle has not been fined. If this section displays violation information, it means the vehicle owner has not completed the fine payment and will be denied registration.

Currently, the Department of Transport of many provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau... have allowed people to look up traffic fines on the Department's website.

Step 2:. Enter the required information completely and accurately including: Vehicle license plate number and Inspection certificate stamp number.

Step 3: After entering all the information, click Search to check the results.

Look up fines on the app

On Android and IOS platforms, there are many applications that help look up car fines such as: Look up nationwide fines, Look up fines, Look up fines, Look up fines for cars and motorbikes... These applications can be downloaded on CH Play (for phones using Android operating system) or Apple Store (for phones using IOS operating system).

Time to notify fines

From the time of detecting a violation, within 5 working days, the competent authorities will verify information about the violating vehicle and send a written notice requesting the vehicle owner to go to the Traffic Police Department where the violation was detected to resolve the case.

If after 15 days from the date of sending the first notice of violation, the vehicle owner does not come, the authorities will send a second notice to the police station of the ward, commune or town where the vehicle owner is registered as a permanent resident. The local police will forward this notice to the vehicle owner, requesting the vehicle owner to go to the traffic police department where the violation was discovered to resolve the matter.

In case after 2 notices are sent, the vehicle owner still does not come to the agency to resolve the violation, the Traffic Police Department will send a notice to the inspection agency to put the violating vehicle on the vehicle warning on the Inspection Management Program.
