The Ministry of Science and Technology requires stopping the import of used machinery and equipment that have been rejected by competent Chinese authorities.

The Ministry of Science and Technology has just issued a document requesting the temporary suspension of imports of used machinery, equipment, and technological lines that have been discarded by other countries due to their obsolescence, poor quality, and environmental pollution. In particular, the exact request is to suspend imports of machinery and equipment that have been discarded by competent Chinese authorities in the fields of iron, steel, alloy, and coal production... This regulation does not apply to machinery that is not used domestically such as temporary imports, re-exports, transits, and border-gate transfers.

Since September 15, shipments of machinery, equipment, and technological lines imported from China must have confirmation from the Ministry of Science and Technology that they are not subject to temporary import suspension before being allowed to clear customs.

To confirm that the shipment of machinery and equipment originating from China is not subject to the ban, importers must submit documents proving the source, stating clearly the year of manufacture, place of manufacture, year of first use, location and unit that used it before import to the Ministry.
