Oranges sell surprisingly well at Vinh Orange Fair

(Baonghean.vn) - After more than a day of opening the Vinh Orange Fair, the stalls participating in the fair all sold a large amount of oranges, estimated at more than 20 tons.

Vinh - Nghe An Orange Fair took place in Vinh City from December 28 - 30, 2017, attracting a large number of people to participate.

Despite the cold weather, many people came to the fair to visit, enjoy and buy Nghe An orange products for their families and as gifts for friends and relatives.

Orange stalls are often crowded with customers. Mr. Tran Van Kinh, Con Cuong product stall shared: "Yesterday I transported 1 ton of oranges to the fair; currently out of stock. We are sending people to Con Cuong to pick oranges and bring them down. The price of Con Cuong oranges is only 35,000 VND/kg but still ensures deliciousness, so many people buy them."

At the booth from Con Cuong, there are also many unique and novel products made from oranges such as orange soap, orange wine, orange jam, etc., which also contributed to attracting visitors.

At this year's fair, the only orange booth in Yen Thanh district also attracted many customers. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, Dong Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district shared: "We transported 2 tons of oranges from Dong Trung hamlet, Dong Thanh commune to display and introduce at the fair. After the first day, we sold more than 1 ton. The current price of oranges is 50,000 VND/kg, but there were many customers asking to buy. We are very happy because we can both introduce oranges and sell products. We are promoting the procedures and documents to get Vinh orange stamps."

Quy Hop is the locality with the most booths at the fair with 10 booths. Most of the booths are crowded with buyers. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao, Minh Hop commune, Quy Hop district shared: "From yesterday until now, I have sold more than 700 kg of oranges at the price of 35,000 - 50,000 VND/kg. The consumption is the highest ever".

In addition, orange stalls from Tan Ky, Nghia Dan, Nghi Loc, Anh Chuong, Thanh Son all had customers coming to support 5kg to 1 yen each. Most stall owners said that because this was the first time Vinh orange fair was held, the attraction was huge. In addition, the fair took place close to the New Year, so oranges were consumed strongly, especially restaurants and hotels that bought in large quantities.

Ms. Le Thi Dung, Truong Thi Ward, Vinh City, was excited: The oranges at the fair are of better quality and safer than the oranges on the market before, so we feel very secure when buying. In addition, we can taste the orange products for free before buying, so everyone feels secure with the products they buy.

According to preliminary statistics, the fair has about 36 booths displaying Nghe An oranges, each booth sells an average of 500 kg - 1 ton of oranges on the first day. Overall, the orange output sold at the Vinh Orange Fair in more than one day reached over 25 tons of oranges, earning over 1 billion VND in revenue.
