According to a VNA reporter in Phnom Penh, the CPP's statement on June 21 stated that this decision was made with the consensus of the CPP's Special General Assembly.

Previously, on June 20, at the 38th Conference of the CPP Central Executive Committee, Prime Minister Hun Sen, Vice President of the CPP, was elected as the new President to replace Mr. Chea Sim.

In addition, Mr. Sai Chhum, Standing Committee Member, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Standing Committee and Mr. Sar Kheng, Standing Committee Member, were elected as Vice Presidents of the CPP.

According to CPP spokesman Sok Eysan, the CPP's signs that have previously featured the three party leaders, Chea Sim, Hun Sen and Heng Samrin, will now be replaced by signs that only feature Hun Sen and Heng Samrin./.
