Harley-Davidson's largest faired touring bike, the Roadking, has just added a 2017 Roadking Special version with some strong highlights.
Adding to the product portfolio with the new generation Milwaukee-Eight engine in general and the Roadking faired road bike line in particular, the 2017 Harley-Davidson Roadking Special version has just been announced by the American motorcycle company Harley-Davidson. |
Compared to the regular Roadking versions, the Roadking Special has a more aggressive design with almost all chrome-plated details changed to black, along with a pair of large multi-spoke rims. In addition, the front brake system is also upgraded with a pair of anti-deformation discs at high temperatures when braking suddenly. |
At the rear, the 2017 Roadking Special has a pair of lower rear fenders and storage boxes, along with a shortened taillight cluster. Compared to the regular version, the seat of the bike has also been lowered from 28.2 to 26.4 inches. |
Like the regular version, the Roadking Special 2017 is also equipped with a completely new Harley-Davidson engine called the Milwaukee-Eight. In the history of Harley-Davidson for more than a hundred years, this is only the 9th largest engine line produced by the American car company. However, like many other details of the car, this engine has been painted with a strong glossy black. |
"Milwaukee-Eight" means the location of Harley-Davidson's headquarters and the number of valves per cylinder. With oil-cooled cylinder heads, increased capacity to 1750 cc, increased compression ratio, dual spark plugs per cylinder,... this engine helps the vehicle accelerate 11% faster than the old engines in the speed range of 0-100 km/h. |
In the US, the starting price for the Harley-Davidson Roadking Special is $21,399 (equivalent to VND 484 million). The vehicle will be sold in four different colors. |
