More than 130,000 billion VND needed to build the Eastern North-South Expressway

The total estimated capital of the project is about 130,216 billion VND, with 11 sections to be implemented by 2020.

As planned, the North-South Expressway Construction Investment Project in the Eastern Region for the 2017-2020 period will be submitted to the National Assembly at the 4th Session of the 14th National Assembly, which will open next week.

The construction of the North-South Expressway to the East is considered to play a very important role, connecting the political center of Hanoi and the economic center of Ho Chi Minh City, passing through the territory of 20 provinces and cities, and will affect 45% of the population, contribute 52% of GDP, affect 75% of seaports and 67% of economic zones of the country.

The North-South Eastern Expressway by 2020 is expected to have 11 sections.

According to the Ministry of Transport, to ensure investment efficiency and the ability to balance resources, the investment roadmap for the North-South Eastern Expressway is expected to be divided into 3 phases: Phase 2017 - 2020; Phase 2021 - 2025 and phase after 2025. The investment scope for the 2017 - 2020 phase (713 km long) is very large in scale.

The total capital of the project is expected to be about 130,216 billion VND (11 sections to be implemented by 2020). Of which, the state capital support is 55,000 billion VND, the capital mobilized outside the budget is expected to be about 63,716 billion VND (including equity capital of about 12,743 billion VND and loan capital of about 50,973 billion VND)./.
