That was emphasized by comrade Ngoc Kim Nam - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee at the Conference on publishing, printing and distribution work in 2024, and deploying tasks in 2025.
On the afternoon of March 19, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee to organize a conference to review publishing, printing and distribution work in 2024 and deploy tasks in 2025.

Limitations in technology application
In 2024, the publishing, printing and distribution industry in Nghe An achieved many remarkable results. The total number of publications reached 310 titles with more than 1.4 million copies. Of which, Nghe An Publishing House published 230 titles with 103,610 copies, Vinh University Publishing House published 80 titles with 1,348,285 copies. Printing and distribution units also achieved significant revenue, with printing revenue reaching nearly 108 billion VND, and distribution revenue reaching 192 billion VND.

Inspection and examination work was also stepped up with 3 inspections in 10 localities, penalizing 16 establishments for violations with a total fine of 140 million VND. Activities in response to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day were widely deployed, creating a vibrant atmosphere in the community.
In addition to positive results, the industry still has some limitations such as not strongly implementing digital transformation, small printing facilities, outdated technology, and a lack of diversity in the distribution market. In particular, the application of technology in distribution activities is still limited, and online distribution channels or e-commerce have not been fully utilized.

In 2025, Nghe An's publishing, printing and distribution industry aims to promote digital transformation, focusing on e-publishing and developing reading spaces in libraries and schools. At the same time, the industry will strengthen the management of publications, especially online content.
One of the important tasks of the Nghe An publishing, printing and distribution industry is to organize the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025. The event is scheduled to take place on April 17 at the Nghe An Provincial Cultural Center, with many activities such as: Book Fair, exhibition, storytelling contests based on books and author exchanges. The conference calls for the participation of publishers, printing and distribution units in this event to spread reading culture in the community.
In addition, the industry also aims to expand reading spaces, improve the quality of publications and promote cooperation between units inside and outside the province to expand the market. The development of digital transformation solutions is also proposed to modernize the publishing, printing and distribution process, meeting the increasing needs of readers.
Proactively develop a digital transformation plan
Speaking at the conference, Comrade Ngoc Kim Nam - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department highly appreciated the results that the publishing, printing and distribution industry has achieved in the past year. He emphasized that agencies and units in the industry need to continue to properly implement political and ideological orientations; the staff must always be steadfast in their stance, constantly cultivate professional ethics, improve professional capacity, and aim for a professional and modern publishing, printing and distribution industry.
On the part of State management agencies, it is necessary to urgently develop a digital transformation plan for the publishing, printing and distribution industry; at the same time, strengthen inspection and examination, promptly rectify publishing, printing and distribution activities, prevent spontaneous situations and strictly handle violations and poor quality publications.

Concluding the conference, Ms. Tran Thi My Hanh - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested units in the publishing, printing and distribution industry to focus on publishing valuable publications with high influence, especially propaganda documents on the 20th Congress of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030 and the 14th National Congress of the Party. At the same time, units need to proactively implement digital transformation, innovate operating models, and invest in modern production equipment to meet the practical requirements of the locality and the overall development of the industry.

In addition, units need to coordinate to organize the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2025 in a practical and effective manner, creating a deep impression. At the same time, it is necessary to research solutions to maximize the exploitation of local publishing and printing resources; develop reading spaces in libraries, schools, publishing houses, and distribution units suitable to actual conditions, contributing to spreading the reading culture in the community, gradually making reading a habit in people's lives./.
