(Baonghean) - After many extensions, recently in the conclusion of comrade Huynh Thanh Dien at the working session to listen to and give instructions on the work of ensuring security and order and state management of maritime in the Cua Lo Seaport area, it was stated: Localities focus on directing strongly with resolute measures to relocate fish cages out of the waters of Cua Lo Seaport before November 30, 2012. However, up to now, only fish cages of people in Nghi Thiet commune (Nghi Loc) have been relocated, while fish cages of people in Nghi Tan and Nghi Thuy wards (Cua Lo town) have not yet complied.

According to the investigation, despite the great economic losses, because the fish consumption market is currently difficult, most households have to sell fish before reaching the weight, but understanding that illegal fish cage farming affects maritime safety, security in Cua Lo Port area and especially seriously affects the process of upgrading and dredging the port channel, 12 households raising fish cages in Nghi Thiet commune (Nghi Loc) in the sea area of Cua Lo Port have complied with the relocation. Meanwhile, up to now, only 4/27 cage clusters of people in Nghi Tan ward, Nghi Thuy (Cua Lo town) have agreed to relocate.

With the delay in implementing the relocation of Cua Lo Town, up to now, in addition to completing the harvest, 15/23 cage clusters have continued to release new fish for farming. The People's Committee of Cua Lo Town, as well as households, need to take remedial measures, promptly creating conditions for Nghe An Maritime Port Authority to dredge the waterway as planned, in order to ensure the economic development goals of the province as well as the North Central region in the long term.
