(Baonghean.vn) -According to family members, at the engagement ceremony held on the evening of December 24 in Quynh Phuong Ward, Hoang Mai Town, about 50 young men used knives and swords to break into the house and threw mines at the engagement party.

Mach Quang Nghi, born in 1991, the bride's younger brother (Ms. Mach Thi Ngan) said at the engagement ceremony that at around 5:00 p.m. on December 24, a young man named Thuy (nicknamed Thuy Rau) called Nghi to Quynh Phuong bridge to challenge him to fight. However, Nghi frankly replied: "I don't want to fight", and then hung up the phone. At around 7:00 p.m., the groom's family went to Mach Quang Hanh's house (Mr. Nghi and Ms. Mach Thi Ngan's father) to get engaged. At 8:00 p.m., the engagement ceremony was over, when everyone was preparing to leave, suddenly about 50 young men with knives and swords rushed into the house and slashed people.

The fight left three people injured: Phan Van Quyet, Nguyen Van Huu (Quynh Phuong), and Hoang Van Son (Quynh Lap). Quyet suffered a long cut on his forehead, while Son and Huu suffered cuts on their arms. Not stopping there, the group of young men continued to throw four mines into the house. They threw the first mine into the house, and everyone discovered it and ran away. Luckily, the mine did not explode. After that, they continued to throw three more mines and they exploded, injuring many people. After the explosion, the police of Hoang Mai town and Quynh Phuong ward were present to protect the scene and investigate the explosion. At the scene, the mine throwing into the house caused the floor of Mr. Hanh's house to collapse into a small puddle inside and outside the yard; the family's motorbike was dented, and the windows were broken.

Colonel Tran Son - Deputy Chief of Hoang Mai Town Police said that the type of mine that exploded at Mr. Hanh's house was a small mine. Examining the scene, the police recovered a number of unexploded mines.

On the afternoon of December 25, 8 young men involved in the mine throwing incident on the night of December 24 turned themselves in. Before that, the police had urgently arrested 3 young men, all residing in Quynh Phuong Ward, to investigate the case. It is known that the young men involved in the incident all reside in Quynh Phuong Ward, Hoang Mai Town.

Currently the police are searching for the suspects involved.
