In 2014, the Department of Transport strengthened many measures to manage transport activities in the province and initially limited illegal bus stations, illegal buses, and buses that pick up and drop off passengers in violation of regulations; opened more passenger transport routes and public transport by bus, facilitating people's travel, increasing the total number of passenger transport vehicles to 1,864 and 93 container freight vehicles licensed by the Department of Transport. Vehicle management through the journey monitoring system continued to be maintained. In the field of managing freight transport by car, the Department resolutely drew up administrative fines and forced 21 vehicles with Lao license plates to unload overloaded timber, 193 vehicles that voluntarily cut off parts that arbitrarily changed the size of the vehicle's body, and administratively sanctioned 7,455 violations with a total fine of over 25 billion VND. During the year, the industry also organized periodic health check-ups for 100% of passenger transport drivers, promptly detecting drivers who did not meet the conditions and standards to sit behind the wheel, contributing to reducing unfortunate accidents.
Speaking at the summary session, the transport units agreed with the policies and measures that have been implemented by the Department of Transport for a long time. Accordingly, along with measures to inspect and strictly handle units that still violate transport regulations, the units recommended quickly implementing the construction and putting into operation of the Northern and Southern bus stations of Vinh city to contribute to reducing traffic congestion, as well as facilitating the pick-up and drop-off of passengers...
Recognizing the efforts of transport businesses in the area, on this occasion, the Director of the Department of Transport awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 companies and 6 individuals. Van Minh Company Limited was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Transport, and 1 individual of Van Minh Company Limited received a Certificate of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee.
