Can Tho City People's Committee has just issued a code of conduct for cadres, civil servants, and public employees... in which it is noteworthy that both male and female civil servants are not allowed to wear jeans or t-shirts to work.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City has just signed a Decision promulgating the Code of Conduct for officials, civil servants, public employees and workers in state agencies and public service units of the city.

The Code consists of 4 chapters and 11 articles, regulating the standards of conduct for officials and civil servants working in state agencies and public service units of Can Tho city.

According to the newly issued rules, working attire at the office or during the performance of duties and official duties (in cases where there are no specific uniform regulations for the industry) must be neat, polite, discreet, with a modest style and color, suitable to the circumstances and specific characteristics of the job.

Especially for women, shirts with sleeves, both men and women are “forbidden” from wearing jeans, t-shirts of all kinds. Wear or pin on civil servant, public employee or industry badges when performing duties.

In addition, the rules also clearly state that officials and civil servants are not allowed to smoke in the workplace; use alcoholic beverages during working hours, lunch breaks of working days, and on-duty days; organize cooking and eating at the workplace; listen to music, play games on computers, electronic devices and other entertainment devices during working hours.

Be exemplary, not ostentatious, wasteful, or profiteering in organizing parties, weddings, funerals, longevity celebrations, birthdays, housewarmings, promotions, appointments, and other activities of yourself and your family.

In communication and behavior, be considerate, polite, friendly, know how to listen to opinions and explain and give clear and specific instructions on work-related regulations; give priority to solving work with the elderly, sick, disabled, pregnant women; use the words "hello", "sorry", "thank you" in appropriate contexts.

Use mobile phones in silent mode. In case of urgent calls that require answering, adjust the volume to avoid affecting people around you and the meeting atmosphere. Do not play video games, read newspapers, or access websites for personal entertainment... during meetings, conferences, or seminars.
