Overloaded vehicles on National Highway 48 must be strictly handled.
(Baonghean.vn) -At this time, although the Provincial People's Committee is deploying interdisciplinary inspection teams to handle oversized and overloaded vehicles, on National Highway 48C in Quy Hop district, oversized and overloaded vehicles carrying minerals are still running on the road.
On National Highway 48, through Tam Hop Commune (Quy Hop), in just over 20 minutes, there were about 10 trucks carrying bulky rocks running from the quarry to the processing factories. This type of vehicle often carries huge blocks of rock, roaring and rushing down the road, causing many people to panic and run to the side of the road. Vehicles from quarries in Chau Hong, Chau Tien, Lien Hop... carrying rocks to the processing factories all travel on this route. Road users are most afraid of the "roaring trucks" carrying rocks, unregistered vehicles, without mirrors, windows, or license plates, carrying huge blocks of rock that sway on the road.
A resident living on the roadside in Tam Hop commune said: The rock trucks run all day, damaging the road and causing dust to cover the sky. Even when the doors are closed all day, dust still covers the houses. Miners said that using "xe reo" is the most economical, this type of vehicle is strong, very mobile, and can lift rocks onto the truck itself. It is known that "xe reo" is an old type of vehicle that many mine owners buy at a cheap price and then "upgrade" to be suitable for carrying heavy goods. Due to changes in the vehicle design, and the installation of a rock-lifting crane, it cannot be registered or inspected. Vehicles of unknown origin, with so many violations, are banned from circulation forever according to the law. However, it is unclear why there are still quite a few of these types of vehicles operating in Quy Hop.
Overloaded trucks carrying white stone from the mine to the processing factory in Quy Hop
We continued to go to the industrial zones in Chau Quang and saw that the road to Chau Hong and Chau Tien communes, more than 15 km long, looked rough and severely degraded, full of potholes, not to mention many residential roads passing through the mines in Chau Quang and Chau Cuong communes were also destroyed, with dust covering the sky day and night.
An officer of the Traffic Police Team of Quy Hop District Police said: The team regularly checks and handles oversized and overloaded vehicles. However, there are also difficulties because these vehicles often carry 2-3 large blocks of stone, and Quy Hop still has no weighing stations and is not equipped with electronic scales, so it is difficult to determine the load.
