CANA: Arrested 4 subjects, seized 20 heroin cakes
(Baonghean.vn) -The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Nghe An Province Police has just broken up Project 199T, arrested 4 subjects, seized a large quantity of drugs and many related exhibits.
At 4:30 a.m. on September 13, 2013, the Drug Crime Investigation Department of Nghe An Province Police coordinated with a number of professional units to inspect room 4004, An Phan Hotel, Vinh City, catching two subjects, Hoang Van Phon (born in 1963), the ringleader, residing in Vo Liet Commune, Thanh Chuong, Nghe An, and Nguyen Thanh Tam (born in 1977), residing in Block 8, Ha Huy Tap Ward, Vinh City, illegally storing drugs.
Here, the police force seized 100 pink pills, 0.5 kg of crystal meth, 1 short gun with 6 bullets, 1 car with license plate 37-00426, 1 electronic scale, 9,000 USD, more than 40 million VND in cash and some related evidence. Expanding the investigation, the Special Task Force coordinated with the Ky Anh District Police (Ha Tinh) to carry out an emergency search warrant on the passenger car with license plate 90B-00171, arresting Bien Van Hieu (born in 1976), residing in Thanh Long commune, Thanh Chuong, Nghe An, who was transporting 20 heroin cakes and 4 kg of crystal meth.

The task force also executed an arrest warrant and searched the house of Nguyen Van Thanh (born in 1971) in Thanh Long commune, Thanh Chuong and confiscated an additional 1 kg of crystal meth. It is known that this is a transnational drug trafficking project from Laos to Nghe An to the southern provinces for consumption.
Currently, the authorities are continuing to investigate and expand the case./.
