Recorded at cLach Van fish pondIn Dien Ngoc commune (Dien Chau) at noon on February 21, unlike the bustling scene before, there were no boats returning to the port and not a single trader. On both sides of the fishing port, boats were anchored tightly. According to fishermen, due to rough seas and cold weather, fishermen did not go to sea these days.

Old fisherman Nguyen Van Ngoc in Dien Ngoc commune said that normally, people go to sea from 2am and return to port at 11am, but the weather has been bad these past few days, so people have stayed home to get through this cold spell. "The sea is rough, fishing is not much, while oil prices are high, so fishermen do not go out, for fear of losing money," fisherman Ngoc shared.

According to Mr. Ngo Xuan Thuy, manager of Lach Van fishing port, fishermen have rarely gone to sea since Tet, especially in the past few days due to strong monsoon winds, rough seas and bad weather.cold, so people do not go to sea. Therefore, Lach Van fishing port has had no boats returning for the past 2 days, which means the fishing port is deserted.

At the fishing portLach Quen, the port where hundreds of large, motorized fishing boats of Quynh Luu district dock, is also deserted, with only occasional fishermen checking their boats.

Fisherman Dinh Trong Nghia in Tien Thuy commune said that due to unfavorable weather at sea, his boat and other boats have been anchored since December 26. "The increase in oil prices has also affected fishermen's income, but that does not mean they will stop fishing. The most important issue is that the weather is not favorable, so people have not gone yet," said old fisherman Dinh Trong Nghia.

"In previous years, on the 4th day of Tet, people went out to sea to catch the first catch of the year; after the 15th day of the first lunar month, people held a fishing ceremony, all boats went to sea, many boats caught a lot of fish.seafoodsignificantly at the beginning of the year. But this year due to unfavorable weather and rough seas, as of February 21, people still have not left," said Mr. Nguyen Duc Dong.
