(Baonghean.vn) -From the fourth day of the Lunar New Year, Cua Lo Port organized its first operations of the year. In the past two months, the port has received and dispatched 119 ships, with the volume of goods handled reaching over 301,000 tons.

Compared to the same period last year, the volume of goods passing through the port increased by approximately 5%. The main items were: 139,000 tons of white stone, 45,000 tons of wood chips, 11,000 tons of fertilizer, 49,000 tons of containers, and 11,000 tons of molasses. These are the first tons of molasses exported to South Korea in the new year.

A positive sign for the port was the arrival of two large foreign-flagged vessels on the first day of the new year: the Taiping (Taiwanese) and the Kai Xiang (Chinese). According to port leaders, thanks to good care for the well-being of the workers, 100% of staff and workers participated in the first working day. This provides a foundation for the port to strive to achieve its target of 2 million tons of cargo handled in 2013.

Here are some photos of activities at the port during the first days of the new year.
