On the first day of the new year, Cua Lo Port loaded and unloaded the ship GUO SHUN - 13, Panamanian nationality, with a capacity of 8,000 tons, loading 7,500 tons of white stone of OMYA Vietnam Minerals One Member Co., Ltd. and the ship Thanh Liem - 18, Vietnamese nationality, loading and unloading 1,000 tons of bagged urea of the Northern Petroleum Fertilizer and Chemicals One Member Co., Ltd.

Mr. Yen Van Phuc - Deputy Director of Commercial Affairs of Cua Lo Loading and Unloading Enterprise said: "Recently, with the attention of the General Department of Vietnam Maritime Administration, Nghe Tinh Port One Member Co., Ltd. has invested in upgrading the port with modern means and machinery to meet production requirements in the new situation, so the Enterprise always completes its assigned tasks. With such conditions, on the first day of the new year 2012, the Enterprise strives to load and unload from 3,000 - 5,000 tons of goods". In 2011, Cua Lo Port always exceeded the assigned targets and was always the leading unit of Nghe Tinh Port One Member Co., Ltd.
To encourage staff and employees to work with peace of mind and enjoy the Spring Festival, on average each person received a total salary and bonus of 7 million VND. In addition, the Port also supported 42 staff and employees with difficult circumstances, each with a gift worth 500,000 VND. On this occasion, the Port also allocated the budget to reward staff and employees with outstanding achievements in production before and after Tet.
In order for Cua Lo Port to meet customers' loading and unloading needs, in recent times, the Port has been equipped with more means and equipment such as: Base cranes, crawler cranes, internal transport vehicles, semi-automatic container frames... In addition, Port No. 4 has invested in expanding the yard and in the first quarter of 2012, berths No. 5 and 6 will be planned and expanded.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Khanh - Director of Nhat Viet Joint Stock Company's Vinh Branch said: "At Cua Lo Port, there have been many innovations and improvements that have created high efficiency and met customers' requirements. One of the successes of the Port is that the quality of services has been gradually improved, especially the productivity of loading and unloading some items has been high such as: crushed stone, boulders, wood chips, containers... to ensure the release of ships for customers". According to the leader of Nghe Tinh Port Company Limited, with the role of "locomotive", Cua Lo Port will greatly support Nghe Tinh Port and in the first month of 2012, it achieved an output of about 150,000 tons and is expected to reach an output of 500,000 tons in the first quarter, with a revenue of 26 billion VND.
