Nghe An Port Authority deploys maritime tasks
Nghe An Port Authority has just deployed its tasks for 2011. Comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee attended.
In 2010, Nghe An Port Authority welcomed and transported thousands of domestic and foreign ships to and from the port with over 1,919,000 tons of cargo through the port. Nghe An Port Authority always promotes the propaganda and dissemination of maritime laws, Decree 71 of the Government on seaport management and "maritime channels", "on administrative sanctions in the maritime field".
The unit has coordinated well with the waterway traffic police and border guards to patrol and strictly control activities in the managed sea area.
Maritime legal work is simplified, quick, legal, does not cause trouble to port enterprises, and maritime activities in general. Last year, the Port Authority inspected and re-examined 121 ships, discovered many violations, handled 36 cases, with a total administrative fine of more than 214 million VND.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Huynh Thanh Dien highly appreciated the results that Nghe An Maritime Port Authority achieved in 2010, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province. In order for maritime activities to grow stronger, he noted: The Port Authority and relevant sectors need to coordinate to promote the dissemination of the Maritime Code, effectively implement three aspects: dissemination, inspection, supervision and strict handling of administrative violations in the maritime field; create a smooth corridor in and out of the port, well meeting the goal of developing the maritime economy of Nghe An seaport area.
