Recommendations for workers
According to the Department of Overseas Labor Management, understanding the psychology and aspirations of many workers who want to work in Korea, recently some brokers have taken advantage of the gullibility of workers who do not understand the programs to work in Korea to defraud and illegally collect money from workers. These subjects often provide inaccurate information, promising to help workers go to work in Korea through different channels, some subjects even forged contracts, seals and signatures of the leaders of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to defraud large sums of money from workers.
To avoid being scammed and losing money to the above subjects, the Department of Overseas Labor Management recommends that workers learn about current information and programs to work in Korea through the websites of the Department of Overseas Labor Management (http://www.dolab.gov.vn) and the Overseas Labor Center (http://colab.gov.vn). Be cautious with all information, invitations, and promises to help you work in Korea and contact the authorities to verify the information received. Report to the authorities (Police, Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs of the place of residence, Department of Overseas Labor Management... to coordinate handling when detecting cases of fraud against workers.
3 official channels
According to information from the Overseas Labor Management Department, currently, workers can go to work in Korea through 3 official channels. First, workers go under the Korean Foreign Workers Employment Permit Program (abbreviated as EPS Program). The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs assigns the Overseas Labor Center as the sole agency to implement this program. However, currently, because the Korean side has not re-signed the normal Memorandum of Understanding with Vietnam, new workers cannot participate in this program.
For workers who have applied online and are waiting to be selected by a Korean employer under the EPS Program, workers can only go to work in Korea when a Korean employer chooses to sign a contract. When there is information about the status of their application such as being selected, paying money, leaving the country or invitations, promises to help them be selected and leave the country quickly, they need to contact the Overseas Labor Center to check and verify the information received.
The second is the Program to send workers to work as crew members on nearshore and offshore fishing vessels in Korea. Accordingly, workers who wish to work under this program must register with a number of enterprises that have contracts to supply workers to work as crew members in Korea and have been authorized by the Department of Overseas Labor Management to implement (find the list of enterprises that are authorized to implement on the website of the Department of Overseas Labor Management - http://www.dolab.gov.vn).
Some basic conditions to register for the program: Age from 20 - 40; Living in a coastal area and having experience and ability to catch seafood; Being healthy according to the regulations of Vietnamese law and the requirements of the country receiving the workers; Not being banned from leaving the country according to the regulations of Vietnamese law and banned from entering the country according to the regulations of the law of the country receiving the workers.
Finally, there is the program to send highly skilled workers to work in Korea under the yellow card program (E7 visa). Workers wishing to work under this program must register with a number of enterprises that have contracts to supply workers to work as crew members in Korea and have been authorized by the Department of Overseas Labor Management to implement (find the list of enterprises that are authorized to implement on the website of the Department of Overseas Labor Management - http://www.dolab.gov.vn)
Some basic conditions to register for the program: Have a degree equivalent to or higher than a bachelor's degree in a related field; Have worked for more than 2 years in the required professional field; Korean (or English) proficiency meets the requirements of the employer; Good health according to the regulations of Vietnamese law and the requirements of the country receiving the worker; Not subject to exit ban according to the regulations of Vietnamese law and entry ban according to the regulations of the law of the country receiving the worker./.
