Warning: After heavy rain, heat will return in Nghe An
Authorities warn that Nghe An is likely to experience heavy rains, thunderstorms, and dangerous lightning in the coming time. After that, the heat wave will return with strong intensity and for a long time.
At around 2:00 p.m. on June 10, in some areas of Vinh city, the weather suddenly changed from hot and sunny to quite heavy showers, but the rain only lasted about 5 minutes. The rain stopped, leaving behind a hot and stuffy atmosphere. In some other districts and towns such as Nam Dan, Do Luong, Quy Chau..., the sky also began to get cloudy, signaling a rather rapid change in weather developments.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that widespread rain may occur in Nghe An and the central coastal provinces on the night of June 10, with heavy rain of 30-50mm in some places. Some localities may have heavy thunderstorms, people need to be on guard against tornadoes, lightning, landslides in mountainous areas, along rivers and streams, and flooding in low-lying areas.
On the night of June 10, the Central provinces are forecast to continue to have rain with common accumulated rainfall such as: provinces in the Northern region and Thanh Hoa from 20-40mm, some places over 70mm; Nghe An, Son La and Hoa Binh from 15mm-30mm, some places over 50mm.
Therefore, there is a high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes that can have very negative impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives; cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy civil and economic works, and cause damage to production, economic and social activities.

According to the forecast from the North Central Hydrometeorological Station, from the night of June 11 to June 19, the low pressure area in the West is likely to develop again, leading to widespread thunderstorms followed by heat waves returning with greater intensity and duration, affecting the lives, activities and production of the community.
People need to closely monitor the situation to take response measures and minimize negative impacts caused by the weather.
