On November 5, the French Organization for Food Safety, Environmental and Occupational Health (ANSES) recommended that children under 6 years old should not watch movies or play 3D video games, and that children under 13 years old should only have "moderate" exposure to 3D images.

This is the result of the first scientific study on the possible effects of 3D images on eye development as 3D technology is exploding with many applications on devices, especially mobile phones.

ANSES research indicates a disruption in the ability to simultaneously move both eyes in opposite directions when a person focuses on an object.

When viewing a 3D image on a screen, the process of receiving the 3D effect is very different from normal because the two eyes must simultaneously look at images in two different positions before the brain synthesizes them into a single image.

In young children, especially children under 6 years old, the harmful effects caused by conflicts in adjusting the simultaneous movement of both eyes in both directions are even more severe because this is the age when the visual system is still developing, so they should not be exposed to 3D images.

Experts have repeatedly raised questions about the impact of 3D technology on children's eyesight, but no guidelines or regulations have been developed on this issue.

Currently, Italy is the only country in the world that has regulations restricting the use of 3D glasses for children./.
