Warning about smuggled fake MSG
The Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department (General Department of Customs) said it has discovered a number of shipments of MSG originating from China and Thailand being smuggled into Vietnam to evade taxes.

Some shipments of MSG (official) are also showing signs of fraudulent declaration of quantity and value to evade taxes.
This phenomenon has negatively affected the domestic MSG market, consumer health and caused budget losses.
To prevent the above situation, the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department recommends that customs units strengthen the inspection of imported MSG shipments to promptly detect fraudulent acts and handle them according to the provisions of the law. Localities should pay attention to businesses that declare to import unlabeled shipments or MSG but declare the wrong product code to evade taxes or counterfeit trademarks.
The Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department also requested the Customs Departments of provinces and cities to direct the Customs Control Team to strengthen the work of grasping the situation in the area related to MSG enterprises in the area, the methods and tricks of the subjects in fraud and smuggling; put MSG into the List of key items to develop plans, organize investigations and handle according to the provisions of law.
