Warning about contaminated cheese
On February 11, the Food Safety Department (FSD), Ministry of Health, said it had just been notified by the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA) that Criffel cheese products under the Loch Arthur Creamery brand were contaminated with Listeria monoytogenes bacteria.
The Food Safety Department has reviewed the import situation of this product in Vietnam and confirmed that since 2012, no such product has been announced at the Department. Mr. Tran Quang Trung, Director of the Food Safety Department, said that this agency will continue to keep in touch with the FSA to update information and promptly notify consumers. Listeria monoytogenes bacteria is the agent that causes food poisoning and a number of other dangerous diseases.
