Warning about agricultural labor program scam in Australia
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 13, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An issued Official Dispatch No. 1637/SLĐTBXH - LĐVL on coordinating information to prevent fraud regarding the agricultural labor program in Australia.
According to information from the Department of Overseas Labor Management, recently this agency has received reports that in some localities, individuals and organizations have appeared to promote and invite people to work under the agricultural program in Australia.
The Department of Overseas Labor Management has issued a document reminding the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of provinces and cities to specifically inform the people not to register with any individual or organization claiming to be the representative of the employer in Australia to participate in this program. Because according to the Department's announcement, this program only has a memorandum of understanding between the two countries, but does not have specific conditions.

Receiving Official Dispatch No. 1189/LĐTB & XH-QLLĐNN dated April 19, 2022 of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, regarding information coordination to prevent fraud on agricultural programs in Australia, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Nghe An issued an official dispatch stating:
In order to prevent individuals and organizations from taking advantage of information about the Australian Agricultural Labor Program to defraud and collect money from workers in Nghe An province, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs requests the People's Committees of urban districts to promptly inform and advise local workers to absolutely not register with any individual or organization (including individuals and organizations claiming to be representatives of employers in Australia) to participate in the agricultural labor program in this country.
At the same time, promptly detect and handle individuals and organizations that go to localities to promote recruitment of workers to participate in the above program without guidance documents from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs according to the provisions of law.
The Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will also coordinate to widely disseminate information on the details of the implementation of the Labor Program immediately after the implementation instructions of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs are available.
On March 28, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade signed a memorandum of understanding to facilitate Vietnamese workers to work in the agricultural sector in this country. From this year, Australia will receive about 1,000 workers each year, with a basic monthly salary of about AUD 3,200 - 4,000 (equivalent to VND 52.8 - 66 million). However, the signed program is only a general framework, without specific conditions.
