Warning about scam website vietnamqua24h
The Department of E-commerce and Information Technology (Vecita) - Ministry of Industry and Trade said it has continuously received complaints from people about fraudulent behavior on the website vietnamqua24h.com.
The website records information belonging to the Commercial and Entertainment Services Joint Stock Company in Ton That Dam, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang. However, investigation by the authorities shows that this location is not the office of the above company.
Reporting to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ms. Cao Thao Uyen in Tra Vinh said that on the website vietnamqua24h.com, there is a program organized with a large prize structure, worth from several tens to 100 million VND.
According to the regulations on the website, after creating an online profile by declaring some personal information such as name, address, phone number, ID card number... at the same time, customers are required to pay a fee of 1.5 million VND to create an original profile. The payment method for the above amount is by phone scratch cards of Viettel, Vinaphone, MobiFone networks or bank transfer and is committed to be refunded at the award ceremony organized by the company.
"However, if customers top up their cards on these websites according to the instructions, bad guys will receive information about the card code and steal customers' money," the Ministry of Industry and Trade said in a statement.
In addition, to carry out the act of defrauding customers, the website's homepage also posted a fake logo registered with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the symbol of the website credit rating program. Images of the award ceremony for some individuals were also cut and pasted from other programs and other company logos.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade recommends that consumers should be vigilant when transacting on websites that do not provide complete information, especially websites that require payment to receive prizes by phone card top-up or bank transfer in advance.
